The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has reached its last stage with Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) set to face each other in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, May 29.
While Titans have made it to the final in their maiden season, this is the first time since 2008 that Royals will be seen contesting for the prestigious trophy. Both sides have locked horns on two occasions – one in the league phase and the other in the Qualifier 1 – and Titans hold the edge, having beaten Royals on both occasions.
Teams chasing have had a much better record at Ahmedabad, having won 12 out of overall 18 T20s played at this venue since January 2021. In the last contest – Qualifier 2 – between Rajasthan and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Sanju Samson-led side had successfully chased down the target.
